R620 additional NICs
We are looking to add a 10Gb capability to our existing r620 but are having issues locating a 1/2 height 1/2 length card.
I would be fine swapping our current daughter card for a 10Gb converged card and extending the 1Gb traffic over the PCIe interface but could not find a 1/2 height 1/2 length 1Gb card either.
Has anyone had any experience with additional NICs in the r620 form factor or are we out of luck?

Talk to your Dell salesrep he/she can get you a quote for cards that Dell offers and are certified for your R620. Usually for network cards and such Dell's prices aren't that much more than on the open market, and your server's warranty will then automatically cover the card as well (but you may need to keep track of the order number for when you ever have an issue and need to show you purchased it from Dell).
When I go to the Dell site to put together an R620, I see they offer the Broadcom 57810, the Intel x520, and the Intel x540 in low profile (half height).

There is a low profile short nic that fits the description of that you need, it is part number 430-4409 (Broadcom Low Profile 57800S 10GBASE-T Rack Converged nic). Located here -
The card DevMgr is referring to is part number 430-4412.
Let me know if this is, or is close to what you are looking for.
