Ibeng,
The 5620 does support them. Be sure to update the server as well.
I would suggest Optimized for capacity, as well as spreading them across the multiple channels.

The server does support 16gb dimms, but to make sure they are supported we need to know what processors are installed.
The population of 16gb dimms, if the processor(s) are supporting, would be A1, A2, A3 and B1, B2, and B3.
The mix you described will not be an optimal configuration, as we cant population all the channels equally.
Let me know if this helps.

Hey Chris,
Thanks for your replay!
The servers are running E5620 @ 2.4.
1. Would that be suitable for 16GB dimms?
2. Would it be possible to do so with advanced ecc mode? is this the recommended mode for esxi?
Thanks for that Chris!
