R730 LifeCycle Controller Not Available During POST; BIOS version in Setup Menu different vs iDRAC

Hello,

After trying to update older BIOS and iDRAC FW on an R730, I've gotten to a situation where the LIfecycle controller is no longer displayed as an option during POST in addition to BIOS setup and the iDRAC rollback menu reporting differeint BIOS versions in use. This may be due to the fact that I updated the BIOS before iDRAC (which I learned later is the opposite order to what Dell requires). The "collect system inventory on startup" is selected in the Setup options. How do I get the LIfecycle controller option back in addition to getting iDRAC to report the correct BIOS version in use?

Thanks. MHL777

Hello,

I was trying to update from an older BIOS (version 1.04), which is what the iDRAC rollback menu still shows. Initially, I tried to update the BIOS first and then iDRAC and when I noticed the Lifecycle controller option not being available during reboot, I tried to use iDRAC to rollback both the BIOS and iDRAC FW to their original versions. When this didn't seem to help, I then tried to update BIOS via EFI, which led to the current state.

Screenshots are available here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/gvb856hxqkrqqz4/AACfPb_rTuJqKtk3zBsZoRfpa?dl=0

The absence of the Lifecycle controller along with the BIOS version reported in the rollback menu have me concerned. Thanks.

Hi,

What versions of BIOS and iDRAC did you update from and what versions were updated to. What method was used to update?

Thank you,
