R730xd re-occurring correctable memory error rate exceeded
ON our PowerEdge R730xd, we continue to see correctable memory error rate exceeded in different DIMM slots, after the fact we purchased new DIMMS and we also swap a few to test if the DIMMS are in fact bad, but that is not the case. Does anyone have any insights?

Hi,
Could you check if your server is running on latest firmware? There are some fixes on the memory and processor.

What I suggest is swapping the dimm with the error with another matching dimm in the server, after that if the error follows the dimm to the new slot then the issue is the dimm, if the error remains at the slot then it is likely an issue with the board. I would also suggest that you clear the hardware log before running this test, as it may have stopped logging the error due to how many errors have been seen.
Let us know what you see.

Yes we are running all the latest BIOS firmware, drivers and NIC firmware as well. Also, recently when we had the first memory error, we just installed a new DIMM on a different bank-slot to rule that out. Last time we had this happened, the ESX server crashed on first sign of this memory error. Could this be a bad mother board? And if so how can I really test and make sure ? Thanks
