The NDC isn't a required device for the server to POST, but without knowing the specifics of the error, I can't be certain on the cause. Yet I am pretty sure the issue is that the NDC is Enabled in the BIOS, but not installed. If that is indeed the case then you will see in the BIOS, under Integrated Devices, Integrated Network Card 1 as Enabled. If so then disable that and let me know if that resolves the issue.
If not, would you clarify the specific error you're seeing?
Can you check whether you have latest BIOS and iDRAC FW installed on the Server. R740xd always come with NDC so removing it is not recommended. Any reason to remove NDC
Thank you in advance for your answer. I am testing a chassis without NDC card and I saw the critical error message but server works perfectly using only iDRAC port for networking so that was the reason I asked if I could disable the error.

Hi Chris,
I disabled Integrated NIC 1 in bios but critial error persist. If i go to log I see he message:
2022-04-19 12:01:11 HWC1001 The NDC is absent.
