R815 won't boot

The PSU lights are green. The power button does nothing. The fans ramp up when the unit is plugged in. I have various green lights on the board. If I pull the battery I can reach iDRAC while on standby. As soon as I power the unit via iDRAC or via power button (one time after battery is pulled) the NIC goes dark, and no more iDRAC. The logs showed no events of interest. The front panel display is totally dark.

I can't see anyplace in iDRAC6 to generate a detailed SupportAssist report either? Do I need to use the "console" and issue some kind of command?

Hello

I don't think that feature was available with the iDRAC 6. I suggest that you perform no POST troubleshooting. Here is an article to help guide you.

So unless it's a bad memory DIMM I guess we are fairly cooked. None of the 4 possible scenarios apply to me. The closest is "No Power" but I have full access to iDRAC unless I try to power on the system. Then everything turns off. Both my PSU's have a green light. My fans turn on full blast briefly when the unit is plugged in. The front display is dark, and stays dark.
