R820 drawing 65kW!!

So I have started seeing SEL entries for system board Consumption current is greater than the upper critical threshold and in looking at the power monitoring page in DRAC I see Max Peaks are listing at:

65422 W | 223285 BTU/hr

Uhhhhh what? :)

So before this started I upgraded all firmware EXCEPT the PSU which is at 07.09.47 so is this the new DRAC/LC, BIOS firmware not playing nice with the old PSU firmware and reporting wacky info?

I really don't want to upgrade the PSU firmware. I have bricked PSUs before following Dell procedure so it's way down near the bottom on my happy list :(

Has anybody else seen this?

Hello

When you perform firmware/BIOS updates part of the update process is to flush volatile memory. Sometimes the volatile memory is not fully cleared. Old data in memory can cause conflicts/issues with the new firmware/BIOS. The first step you should perform when encountering issues after a firmware or BIOS update is to drain flea power to clear the volatile memory.

If the issue persists then save the hardware log for your records and then clear it. If the issue still persists then reset the iDRAC to defaults so that it will use the new configuration file from the latest firmware update. Your old configuration file may not have copied correctly or it may have been corrupted during the update. Make sure you have some form of access to the system to re-enter the iDRAC information if you reset it to defaults as it will clear the network and user settings back to default.

Thanks

I am also seeing these entries. This is a R820 purchased just over a month ago with all factory firmware. PSU firmware is 07.10.52.

Last week max peak was 65428 W | 223306 BTU/hr!

What gives?
