raid 10 question

We need a poweredge server (probably 815 or 715) with raid 10 and usuable disk storage of  7 to 8 TB . When I customized the hardware on the dell site it is telling me max of 3.8 TB is possbile with raid 10. Is it true? If yes what options do i have?

So, another of doing is. Select 2.5" x 16 chasis with raid 5/6 . Then select 16x 1 TB disks. Then later I can use 2 disks for raid 1 and remaining 14 for raid 10. Is this doable?

Yes, that's doable.

You can order the server the way you want originally, you just have to call into sales rather than ordering online.
