Raid controller compatibility with Poweredge R620

Question

I have a Poweredge R620 which currently has the H710 mini onboard controller. I am trying to set it up using Proxmox virtualization and ZFS as the file system. My problem is that ZFS works best with IT-mode/HBA mode, not hardware raid. Since the H710 does not support this I was thinking of upgrading to either the H330 or H730 RAID controller.

Can anyone tell me if either of these H*30 controllers will work in my my R620? If not, are there any other Perc controllers which will and that support non-raid/Hba/it modes?

The H330 and H730 are not validated in the R620, but they may work, probably will need the adapter version and use a pcie slot not the internal storage slot.

did you manage to get the r620 working using the h330 or h730 PCIe? thanks I think I need to do the same, to have trim working on my server, I read a lot that I don't need trim since it's managed by the raid, but what happens is that I do need it :( so it would be great to know if works because the price for the h330 is not too bad nowadays. Hi, we have 310 mini (Embedded) on R620 server. We are upgrading to SAS 12 Gbps SSD. Can we just replace the existing RAID controller with H330 mini/H730 mini to achieve the 12 Gbps?
