RAM configuration within R710
I am looking to upgrade some RAM within some R710 servers and am trying to reuse some of the parts I have from obsolete equipment. The issue is that I would like to use both 8Gb and 4Gb within the configuration if this is possible.
I am required to provide 128Gb RAM. While within some of the servers I can use 8 x 8Gb on each side taking up the A1-8 & B1-8 slots. Due to the number of 8Gb sticks available to me I would like to replace the 8Gb stick in A8 & B8 with 2 x 4Gb in the A8-9 & B8-9 slots.
Is this likely to cause an issue for me.

The thing you will need to look out for is that the memory channels match. So A1,4 and 7 must match B1,4, and 7, etc. So with what you're suggesting, it should be functional.
