Ram for SC1430

Hello

I plan to buy 2 SC1430

My question is if i can add the following RAM to SC1430

SAMSUNG M395T5160CZ4-CE660: 4GB 240-PIN PC2-5300 CL5 36c 256x4 Fully Buffered ECC DDR2-667 FBDIMM

So for 4 slots going to have 16GB.

sibas,

The SC1430 will only take up to 2gb dimms per slot for a total of 8gb maximum system memory.

Minor update to an old thread...

I bought a pair of 4GB FB-DIMMs for my Precision T5400 and decided to try them in my SC1430. It is running great with 2x4GB and 2x 2GB DIMMS for 12GB total. (I'll be getting another pair of 4GB sticks in a couple of days, so will try for 16GB at that time...)

It is not particularly surprising that 4GB DIMM's work, given that 1) the Intel 5000V chipset supports 4GB DIMM's so a total of 16GB, and 2) SC1430 BIOS version 1.1 added "support for additional FB-DIMM memory components", which I would assume would allow 4GB DIMM's ... although it is good to get confirmation.

Yep, 4x4GB works perfectly fine in an SC1430 fro 16GB total... (Sorry for the late reply.)
