Remote access configuration utility, please help in configuration
Hi,
I have PE 2950 witch Remote Access Configuration utility v 1.25, and it is DRAC5,
my settings:
(ctrl+e on restart):
ipmi over lan - off
nic selection - shared
lan parameters:
ip address source - static
ip address - 192.168.5.150
subnet masq - 255.255.255.0
gateway - 192.168.5.150
vlan enable - off
lan alert enabled - off
lan user configuration
account access - enabled
account privilege - user
user name - root
enter password - root
server is connected to lan (GB1)
now I can ping somewhere inside lan "ping 192.168.5.150" and I have an answer,
but when I open my web browser and put http (or https) ://192.168.5.150 there is nothing on the screen
moreover when I'm using nmap:
#nmap -p 1-10007 192.168.5.150
Starting Nmap 4.11 ( http://www.insecure.org/nmap/ ) at 2008-06-25 13:14 CEST
All 10007 scanned ports on 192.168.5.150 are filtered
MAC Address: 01:1E:D9:DA:1A:7D (Unknown)
Nmap finished: 1 IP address (1 host up) scanned in 210.437 seconds
so no services are started on server,
my question is: how to set up remote access configuration ?
i've read manual but i think i've missed something.
S.

The gateway address should be something other than 192.168.5.150, but this shouldn't be causing your issue.
You have the DRAC5 configured in shared mode rather than using the dedicated NIC, therefore both the DRAC and server will use NIC1. Have you tried using the dedicated DRAC port?

what do you mean?, phisicaly port (how it looks like) or logical port (tell me a number of that port, i've scanned 1-10000 and there was nothing listening at all)

There is a dedicated RJ45 connector for the DRAC 5 on the back of the server. The DRAC can also share the RJ45 port for NIC1.
