Replacing a Perc Controller battery procedures

I am trying to replace PowerEdge 6300 PERC2 Controller battery. Are there any available procedures manual for doing it.

This is an item of interest for me. Firstly if you shutdown the server data should be written back from cache to the disk.
Therefore it is no big deal to disconnect the battery. Or so I believe.
I am assuming you have a jumper to disconnect the battery from the circuitry.
Disconnect it then replace the batteries.
After the replacement reconnect jumper and all should be OK.

Can you advise where the batteries were bought from and the spec.
I have a PERC2 also that needs new batteries but I do not have the specs.
The card is made by Adaptec but I can't find the manufacturer (Generation) of the battery.

In order to replace the battery on your Adaptec controller, all you have a to do, "if it is a Dell PowerEdge server" is just call Dell and give them the service Tag number and they will find the part you are looking for as it was shipped from their shop the day the server was ordered.

If it is not a Dell server, what I would do, is take the controller out of the server, and write down the exact part # and model, and call the manufacturer (ADAPTEC) and order the battery from them. If not you can find the proper parts (should match the battery voltage) on the internet.

Here is the link for the controller batter replacement procedures (from Dell):
