A server is a glorified desktop computer.

You need a keyboard and monitor (and probably a mouse too) to set it up initially.

Once you have an IP assigned and have set permissions to allow remote management, you can then remove the keyboard and monitor and manage it remotely via SSH (Linux) or RDP (Windows).

Thanks for that.  So 'borrow' monitor etc from 1 of the other pcs to set up server.  Thats fine.
One more question - Is Lynx etc something that'll be with spec anyway or a seperate purchase?
Thanks

I assume you mean Linux (instead of Lynx). If so, you can buy it from Dell on several (not sure if you can get it on all) servers, or you can download your own choice of distribution and install that (e.g. Ubuntu, Fedora, FreeBSD (some may not consider this Linux, but it's similar), etc).
