To rule out false errors, make sure your PERC Controller firmware and driver are up-to-date, along with updating the Dell Open Manage Array Manager. Below is a link to some diagnostics you can run on the hard drives. Download the file, double click on it and it will produce a bootable floppy. Boot to the floppy and it will walk you through running diags on your hard drives.
