SCSI Error Codes
I keep getting one of each of these errors in the event logs on 2 Servers.
Array Disk 1:12 Sense Key = 4, Sense Code = 40, Sense Qualifier = 8C
Array Disk 1:8 Sense Key = 4, Sense Code = 44, Sense Qualifier = A3
Please can anyone shed some light on this. The errors have occured intermittantly over a period of about 3 months. I thought it was a predictive failure but have not had a drive failure in this time.

These errors normally indicate that the drives may be failing. To rule out false errors, make sure your PERC Controller firmware and driver are up-to-date, along with updating the Dell Open Manage Array Manager. Below is a link to some diagnostics you can run on the hard drives. Download the file, double click on it and it will produce a bootable floppy. Boot to the floppy and it will walk you through running diags on your hard drives.
