Sever refuses to boot
Hi all,
Greetings of the day.
My "PowerEdge R730xd" facing a problem. Having the OS backplane card (PWA 7HWKR) inserted the server stalls in standby and nothing comes in the screen. If I remove the card or cable labelled "J_BP_SIG" the server starts to boot I mean the BIOS message etc start to appear. Any solutions or suggestions that I can try ? I am equipped with a small lab with some basic tools.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks and regards.
PS: The ferrite coil on board is showing some damage yet providing the 5v dc.

Anoop.kr,
Would you confirm if the backplane card is originally from this server, or is it a replacement? Would you also confirm if you have tried powering up with the backplane installed, but without the drives installed? If it is throwing the error without the drives, then there may be an issue with the backplane, or possibly the slot it is installed. If you have another R730xd backplane, you can try swapping them to see if the error continues.
Let me know.
