Strange problem with ECC memory DIMM

Hi to All

We've a strange problem with a server R430 about ECC Error memory DImm

The other day we've received an alarm for exceeding the limit for ECC error on module DIMM B1.

So, following the guide from support we've upgraded the bios to version 2.7.1 and reset the drac log.

So was everything OK till today.

But today, we've received an error on module Dimm B4 for reaching the limit for ECC error.

So what should we do?

Is it a false positive or should we change the Dimm?

Regards

Hi,

Please send a private message with your service tag to ensure we have all appropriate information on your system.

There is a separate log for the SBE than the hardware log and probably needs to be cleared. It will continue to report. To clear the log:

  1. Open a cmd prompt to the root of c:
  2. Type dir /s dcicfg32.exe to locate the utility.
  3. Go to that directory and run dcicfg32 command=clearmemfailures

If you continue to receive errors, swap DIMM B1 with DIMM A1 and see if the error follows or not. If the error follows, the DIMM is faulty. If the error remains with DIMM B1, the slot is probably faulty.
