T310 RAM Problem

Question

I purchased a refurbished T310 with only 2gbs of RAM installed.  I purchased 2 4gb sticks of RAM from Dell.  This RAM is 4Rx8 PC3-8500R-7-10-HO Hynix RAM.  The server will not post with this RAM installed in slots A1 and B2.  I did remove the original RAM. I then purchased, as Dell support told me to, two 8gb sticks of Hynix RAM that is 2Rx4 PC3L 10600R-9-10-E1 RAM.  When I install this RAM in slots A1 and B2 the server will not post. I tried putting in each stick alone, no post for either the 4gb sticks or 8gb sticks.  I tried putting in the 4R RAM in slots A1 and B2 and the 2R sticks in A3 and B4, still no joy. The server posts fine with the original RAM.  This RAM is 1gb 1Rx8 PC3L-10600E-9-10-D0.  Dell support has been less than stellar, to say the least.  Now they want to buy RAM that costs over $1300.  Heck, I only paid $1400 for the server. I always avoided Dell.  Now I know why.  I have a $1400 door stop with a nice Dell logo on it. Will somebody enlighten me as to what RAM I can use and where, other than Dell, I can get the right RAM, and where I need to install the RAM for my Dell door stop to become a server once again. Which processor do you have? The memory controller is in the processor, and some of the lower end (e.g. non-Xeon) processors may not support all types of DDR3 memory.

The part number for the 8gb RAM is A4105728. The 4gb RAM part number is A3116520. My processor is an i3-550, 3.2Ghtz.

I will be happy to provide my service tag numbers after I discover how to PM using this system.

Since no one ever replied to this issue, that RAM cannot be used because only Xeon processors support reg ECC on the T310.  ECC UDIMMs would have to be used, and regardless of UDIMM/RDIMM use the T310 only supports x8 density RAM (another recommended module of theirs was x4).
