T320 LifeCycle Controller Disabled and failed every boot

Hi all, my PowerEdge T320's LifeCycle controller is telling me that a update is required at boot.

I can't get my LifeCyclecontroller enabled. Everytime after boot it is in Recovery Mode and while booting the message is shown: Failed to Load LifeCycle Controller firmware volume.

I can't do any systemupdate or BIOS update at this moment. I've tried to disable first and then enable my LCC from BIOS, but no success. Downloading the FW-package and install from Windows has no effect. A BIOS-update shows the message "System Services disabled" and quits. I als connected my laptop with cable to DRAC (Basic) and get the message by doing Firmware update OSD35: LifeCycle is not enabled. So I'm running in a loop, it seems.

Can anyone help me or do you some suggestions to solve this issue? Thanks in advance! Petrus

Hello,

Thanks for your reply @DELL-Daniel My . Last week I've replaced the OS-disk because of a defect DISK. Yesterday I tried to detach this new OS-DISK (SSD) and the LLC works fine after this. I've updated the components and firmwares, like BIOS, DRAC, LLC and NIC. After this I've connected the SSD-disk again and the system works fine.

However, the fans are blowing full speed after boot for 15 - 20 minutes. This didn't happen before. Is this a known issue or can it be solved? It happens every time after reboot/power on for 15-20 min.

Thanks in advance for your reply.

Hello

Updates performed through the system services or the iDRAC web interface use the LCC. If the LCC is not functional then those updates methods cannot be used. The main three components that affect LCC functionality are the system BIOS, iDRAC, and LCC. If you are unable to update the LCC firmware because it will not initialize properly then I suggest updating the system BIOS and iDRAC. The system BIOS should have a DOS update method available. You can try updating from the operating system or DOS for updates that have that option.

If updating the system has no affect then check the iDRAC licensing to see what it says the license status is. If there is an abnormal license status then it may have an affect. You can also take the system to minimum-to-POST to see if that has any affect on the LCC initializing. It is possible that faulty or incompatible hardware in the system is causing issues that are stopping the LCC from properly initializing.

If the issue persists after performing all of the above steps then you will likely need to replace the system board to resolve.

Thanks

The iDRAC controls fan response and behavior. Any firmware update to the iDRAC can change the fan behavior. It sounds like the fans are functioning normally. The behavior likely changed with the update.

Old information can persist in memory after a firmware update. This can cause abnormal behavior. If you experience issues after a firmware update then you should drain flea power to clear any volatile memory. This may change the fan behavior. You can also try re-flashing the iDRAC firmware.

Thanks
