T430 - GPU - Power question

Hi.

Currently own a Poweredge T430 that's used as a Plex server. Has a mixture of Dell / HP enterprise HDD's and Seagate + a 1TB NVME drive using PCIE adaptor.

I'm going to be installing a Intel Arc A750 Graphics Card, at the moment I've only got 1x 495W PSU connected. Will this be more than ample for this setup?

Specs:

E5-2640 V4 - 60GB RAM

8x HDDs
H330 - NVME PCI-E Adaptor

1x 495W PSU

Hello thanks for choosing Dell. The intel card you mentined is not certified by Dell so it is very difficult for us to give you any directions on that. Sorry I can't be of help this time. Should you have any further questions, let us know. Wish you a good one.

@DELL-Young E

Don't worry about it not being certified, it will work regardless.

With 2x 495W PSU's installed, Can they load-balance? spread the loads equally between 2 power supply? or is it redundancy only?

Hi, as I know you can choose between two modes for the 495W PSUs: load-balanced or redundant. In load-balanced mode, the PSUs split the power demand of the system evenly, while in redundant mode, one PSU is ready to take over if the other one fails. To switch to load-balanced mode, you have to change the PSUs settings in the iDRAC. Follow these steps:

Access the iDRAC web interface with your login details. Go to Hardware > Power/Thermal > Power Supplies. Select the Configuration tab. Choose Load Balanced from the Power Supply Configuration menu. Press Apply to confirm the changes.
