T620 conversion to t630
Hi,
I’m looking to convert T620 tower server to rack mounted one. I have several option to buy new empty t630 rack chassis but I’m wondering
Are mounting points for t620 and t630 motherboards the same ?
Will cut out for I/O ports match?
shroud seems to be the same part number so I assume I can use the same heatsink, but I would appreciate if somebody from dell can confirm
i understand that this is not something officially supported, so if you could just confirm physical layout of board/ports/shroud I would really appreciate it

Hi,
Unfortunately, I don't have the information to provide to you on the layout if a T620 fits into a T630. Though, usually if a user would like a Tower to convert to a Rack, it's only preconfigure before it is out of the factory. But I can try to provide you most of the parts involved in the conversion, a T620 can be converted with some removal and replacement parts. Though, the part# that I'm giving you, I'm unsure if it available for resale.

The kit part# consist of front panel LCD and the left right ears of the system.
