UEFI says no bootable device

I just installed windows 2012 STD edition and created a raid 1 using h700 perc card. I went back now to change boot settings from BIOS to UEFI and it can't find the harddisk c, I tried to add boot option in UEFI bootmanager but I don't see the hard disk c or perc listed. why?

You will need to choose which mode you want to install Server 2012 prior to the installation.  You will need to reinstall the software in UEFI mode.  The partitioning is different in each one.

Power up the server, boot to the Ctrl R bios.  Delete the array, then configure a disimilar array, such as a RAID 0.  Initialize it. this will remove all traces of the first array and MBR;   Then delete it,  and recreate your RAID 1 and initialize it.  Restart the server on the Windows 2012 DVD and install in the UEFI mode.  It should contain the driver for the PERC 700.

If it works this time, you should be good to go.  The method I provided is a fall back if you keep having errors.

It will depend on what else is being loaded on your server. If you are using older software, it may require the OS to be loaded in BIOS mode.  If you are using all new software, use UEFI; it will allow for larger boot partitions and arrays.   UEFI will eventually replace the older BIOS mode.   Server 2012 is fully UEFI aware.

What server are you using?   In the F2 bios,  what does it show for boot devices?

Thanks,

I deleted the raid one because 2012 said it couldn't install OS because it contained MBR. IR recreated it and install seemed to take off, during the install procedure it reboots and again it says no bootable device..Now I'm back to initial install screen
