USB DAT slows down boot on SC440
When the HP USB DAT 72 is attached and on during startup of my Poweredge SC440 the system stops for several minutes (~4 min) after the message
"Dell Corp. MPT boot ROM successfully installed!"
While it hangs, there is no response of the system, e.g. Num Lock LED does not change, ALT-CTRL-DEL is ignored, only the power switch helps, or unplugging the DAT. After timeout or unplugging the system boots without problems.
The same behaviour is observed when I want to enter the BIOS setup. It enters delayed after the timeout.
I've switched off all boot devices but the Raid, no effect. It only helps when I disable booting from USB devices at all:
Onboard Devices -> USB Controller -> No Boot
The version of the BIOS is 1.1.0 from 09/27/06
Is this behaviour intended? Or is it an "undocumented feature" that should be reported to Dell?
Thanks in advance
Eckhard
