Virtual Console (HTML5) on iOS devices does not work

Hi community,

on my Poweredge T440 i am using the Virtual Console (HTML5) and with Desktop computers (PCs or Macs) the access works fine. On any iOS device (e.g. Apple iPad) i am getting the issue that, when opening the virtual console, my browsers (Firefox, Safari, Chrome) are opening a new window/tab (so far so good) but then i am getting the message „The network connection has been dropped“. I’ve updated my iDrac from version 4.22.00.00, A00 to the current release 4.22.00.53, A00 but the problem still exists.

Any ideas?
Thanks

Launching iDRAC GUI from mobile is currently not supported. Launching iDRAC GUI from MAC OS is supported. That is why you able to launch it from MAC OS and not from iOS.

To access iDRAC Virtual Console from mobile (Andriod or iOS) you can use VNC client. You can refer more details on below link (section Connecting iOS with RealVNC Viewer, Remoter Pro, and Remotix on page number 26 have specific details for iOS)

Hi, I will also attach another link.

Due to an issue with Safari, if an ipv6 literal address is used to log into the Web GUI, Safari is not able to launch the HTML5 based vConsole. Alternative options are to use Java based vConsole, or HTML5 vConsole by using the corresponding DNS name or by using an alternate browser in Mac OS.

wish you a good day.

Spoiler
Thanks for your reply. VNC seems to work but i thought to use vConsole (HTML5) directly it without setting up VNC or using JAVA. I would like to know the reason for this behavior when i am using vConsole in HTML5 mode? Is it the Webkitengine (Browserengine für iOS devices)? As far as i know Apple only accepts Webkit as Browser engine for any browser on iOS. Does anybody know?

Thanks
Thilo

Thanks! Launching the iDrac interface seems to work fine from mobile (iPad) although it is not supported yet. Do you know if there are any plans to realize the vConsole access from mobile in the near future?

Thilo
