VMQ High Latency Issues
Hello,
I ordered 3x a PowerEdge R720.
I have 2x a quad NIC in these servers.
Types:
Broadcom 5719 QP 1Gb Network Interface Card
Broadcom 5720 QP 1Gb Network Daughter Card
When I enable Virtual Machine Queuing (VMQ) I see very high network latency, pings going to 250+ ms.
And I'm not the only one experiencing these issues, please see:

http://blog.osmicro.org/hyper-v-virtual-machine-very-slow-network-vmq/
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/13066.hyper-v-vmq-should-be-enabled-on-vmq-capable-physical-network-adapters-bound-to-an-external-virtual-switch.aspx (see comments)
Seems like it has something to do with the broadcom NIC's because people with HP servers have the same issues.
I have the latest drivers installed, version 15.4.0.17 and the driver file is called b57nd60a.sys.
When will a new driver be released so we can enjoy VMQ?
Thanks.

Take a look at this Dell KCS article: http://www.dell.com/support/troubleshooting/us/en/19/KCS/KcsArticles/ArticleView?c=us&l=&s=dhs&docid=596862
It appears that Broadcom is aware of this issue and should be releasing the new driver in June 2013.

Geoff,
Thanks for your response.
I already received a new driver from Broadcom which fixed these problems, version 15.6.0.11.
They don't answer on any question if this driver can be used in production.

Maybe some pressure from Dell will help? :-)

They release 2 drivers, one for their product and one for their OEM. There are times the standard Broadcom download will work just fine. Sometimes, there is a mismatch and can cause some issues. Dell's version is supposed to be ready in June that is tweaked specifically to their equipment. Hopefully, it will be released sooner than later.
