Thanks

Did you buy the VRTX with both M620's, or did you get the 2nd M620 later or from another source (e.g. Ebay)? Possibly the 2nd M620 needs newer firmware to recognize/be recognized by the VRTX.

Another thing to try is to remove the first M620 and try the 2nd one in that same slot. If it works in that slot, try it in another slot (still w/o the first M620 in the VRTX). If it works there, you may want to look at the power usage as the system will not let you power up certain blades if it isn't getting enough power (i.e. not all powersupplies have been plugged into a powersource).

I have updated everything through the lifecycle, tried it in different slots by itself, and still the same warning.

The only difference between these two blades is the CPLD version, which I have no idea how to upgrade. The one with the error has a CPLD version 102 and the other one has CPLD version 105.

I think this is the problem because error shows up right before this and it stops here waiting for F1 or F2

I have tried everything that I could think of, still nothing.

part number of the motherboard in the M620 that came with the enclosure is B9QDBZ1 and the other one's part number is 32QPDV1 (with error), please let me know if anyone knows anything about this issue.

Thanks

Did you ever get resolution to this?

I am experiencing the same thing. M620s that report "chassis verification failure" during post.

Sorry if this is a necro, but I was working with this same issue at a customer. He had two M620 VRTX blades out of 6 that had the exact "Chassis verification failure. System configuration may not be correct." message with the F1 and F2 prompts. He sent me a screen shot of his iDRAC session as I saw his CPLD version was 104.

I had him get the CPLD version 107 from Dell here: https://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/04/drivers/driversdetails?driverid=f9nr2 and then gave him the installation instructions from here: https://downloads.dell.com/Manuals/all-products/esuprt_software/esuprt_remote_ent_sys_mgmt/esuprt_rmte_ent_sys_chassis_mgmt_cntrllr/dell-chassis-mgmt-cntrllr-v1.30-pwedge-vrtx_White%20Papers1_en-us.pdf

I can verify that this fixed the issue for him.

I just wanted to share a solution for everyone interested/affected.

Thanks, Thomas! Necro or not, it's always good to have confirmed solutions!

Sorry, I know this thread is a year old but, I wanted to confirm that you have M620s running in your VRTX chassis.

On Dell's product page, the list of supported blades are only M630s, M640s and M830s.

Before I purchase a VRTX chassis and some M620s for it, I just wanted to be clear, the M620s work in the VRTX chassis?

Thank you.

Hello amessmann,

Yes the VRTX has a compatible M620.  The thing you will want to be sure is you get M620 for VRTX because there is another M620 for M1000e enclosure.
