Disk Upgrade on PE2300
Hello
I have 2 Pe2300 with Perc II Raid (AMI) CTRL with FW U84,
I want to install brand new disks and re-install W2K O.S.
Q-1 What is the largest drive I'm able to install, 36GB, 72GB or 146GB
Q-2 If i buy Ultra 320 SCSI drive do you know if they work with Perc II Raid CTRL (All new drive is U320)
Q-3 Can I install 15K RPM drive with Perc II Raid CTRL

This would be a waste of money in my mind because the PERC2 RAID controller will bottleneck your drive throughput to around 4 MB/sec. To take advantage of modern drive speeds you would need a third party RAID card like adaptec or LSI installed in a spare PCI slot with Win2K drivers and you may need to consider a gigabit ethernet server card for your clients to see any of that benefit.
