MD3200i - Factory Reset or Configuration Assitance
I received a MD3200i from my father-- his company was throwing away old equipment.
We grabbed it, put some drives in it, and forgot all about it; started having some problems with our current backup service, and wanted to switch. We have about 48TB sitting on the Storage Unit, ready to be used, but we cannot access the box itself.
I have tried DHCP, as well as connecting to it via the suggested alternatives-- 192.168.128.100/24 and 192.168.128.101/24-- with my PC and it on their own switch. It did not work.
I don't need an Admin Password Reset, at least not yet. I have pressed in the pin on back of the iSCSI cards, but obviously those do not perform the reset I need.
I've already contacted Dell before over the phone, and was not prepared to pay for the out-of-warranty service.
So, if there is a guaranteed method to configuring the machine that is not taking a sledgehammer to it and buying a new one, I am all for it. Someone had suggested it could be running VMWare with ESX on it, and I do not think I have taken that path yet, but I was looking for some insight before I did.

Hello trtrammell,
You need to install MDSM (Modular Disk Storage Manager) on your PC so that you can manage your MD3200i. Here is the link to the resource dvd which has MDSM on it. I am not sure of your current version of firmware so here are 2 different versions.
Resource DVD 6.5.0.1
https://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/drivers/driversdetails?driverId=R9G1X&osCode=W12R2&productCode=powervault-md3200i
Resource DVD 6.4.0.5
https://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/Drivers/DriversDetails?driverId=VNVGW&osCode=W12R2&productCode=powervault-md3200i
Here is also a link to the deployment guide as well. https://downloads.dell.com/manuals/common/powervault-md3200i_deployment%20guide_en-us.pdf
Last is a link to the Administrator guide. https://downloads.dell.com/manuals/common/md32xx_md36xx_administrator%20guide_en%20us.pdf
Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Hi,
We need to perform the factory reset of MD3200i, but via serial cable does not take the commands shown in the guide.
We also tried the syswipe command but it is not recognized
The Modular Disk Storage Manager application does not detect it on the network neither automatically nor by entering the IP.
