Microsoft Windows 2019 Cluster & MD3220i Storage Array - Compatibility Issue?
We have 2 servers using Windows Server 2019 in a Cluster (Server3 and Server4). I've used iSCSI to connect to a Dell Powervault MD3220i storage array
In Dell Modular Disk Storage Manager I have created several Virtual Disks and assigned them to a Host Group containing both servers. I then configured iSCSI on both servers
When I go onto either server and access "Server Manager - File and Storage Services - Volumes - Disks" I can see see both Server3 and Server4; and when I expand them I can see the & virtual disks beneath the local disks.
I am able select any virtual disk, initialize as GPT Partitions and create New Volume as either a drive letter or folder.
However, every time I right-click on a disk beneath Server4 and "Bring Online" the letter/folder will come online on Server3
e.g. If I create volume for S: drive, and i bring it online under either Server3 or Server4, the S: drive will only ever appear on Server3
NB. I have other virtual disks in the same host group that I use in SQL & CSV cluster nodes and they run on either server.
Any advice

Hello RobISL,
When you created your host to virtual disk mappings in MDSM did you assign the virtual disk to the host group or just a single server? What is the current version of firmware that is on your MD3220i?
Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Sam
I have a host group entitled "Default Group" containing both servers, and the virtual disk is assigned to that
In Powervault Module Disk Storage Manager - Hardware the Base RAID Controller Module Properties says Firmware Version 08.20.05.60

Hello RobISL,
What I would do is to upgrade the firmware on your MD3220i to the latest version as you are a few revisions behind. With windows 2019 it is not showing as supported on MD3220i support matrix. With that said the best way to ensure that it may work is to use the latest firmware. Here is the link to the firmware and the resource dvd.

Thanks Sam
I've downloaded "Controller firmware" and will give it a go as per the following instructions...

Do I need anything from "Resource dvd"?
