Here is the link to the Administrator guide & if you look on page 171 it states the following “Dell EMC is discontinuing support of the VSS and VDS hardware providers. For more information about deprecation, see the Dell EMC MD Series Storage Arrays Information Update. For supported software, see the Supported Management Software section in the Dell PowerVault MD Series Support Matrix at Dell.com/powervaultmanuals. https://topics-cdn.dell.com/pdf/powervault-md3400_administrator-guide_en-us.pdf
Off-host backups will still work with an MD3820f, however you will need to use a backup software that supports the MD3820f. Please let us know if you have any other questions.
