If you are still in planning phase, I suggest to get the E5-2680 v4. They are only a few dollars more but will give you over 10 percent in performance gain. Also, it will allow for upgrade to 2400 MHz memory.

Samsung is a brand that has been working in Dell's.
Besides updating BIOS, be sure to do one thing at a time, like make sure it works with the RAM, then do the CPU's.
