Just to add, I've been looking at Intel's compatibility information but I'm not sure exactly which C600 series chipset I have. I believe the motherboard has 6 SATA connections which means it should be the C602J but not sure.

I couldn't find a single Dell Precision T5600 on userbenchmark.com running a V2 processor.  See this recent Dell forum thread on this topic.
