Dell T5500 DIMM problem

Question

Hello there and sorry for my bad english. I bought a sh T5500 and i have a problem at my BIOS/RAMS:

Don't recornize my motherboard DIMMS, when i enter in BIOS it's show me *** DIMM slot empty *** at every DIMM.

and it's show me only 1 cpu, from 2 cpu. Widows and cpu-z read only 6 gb ram

The only memory that it's recornized is from Riser DIMMS.

I have next configuration 3x2gb on motherboard connect to DIMM1, DIMM2, DIMM3(white ones) and 3x2gb on riserboard connectd to RDIMM1, RDIMM2, RDIMM3.

What i try to do:

- Change version of bios to A06, A07, A08, A11, A16

- To change ram from Riser DIMM to Motherboard DIMM

- I follow the instruction manual, to make sure that RAM are instaled correctly.

- Make a clear cmos(pull out batter)

- Make a clean windows instalation

- Disconnect all usb

My configuration is:

2 x CPU Xeon x5560

12 GB RAM DDR3 Samsung (3 on motherboard, 3 on riserboard)

PowerSupply with 825W

nVidia Quadro NVS 310

Guys please help me, i don't know what to do. Sorry for my bad english.

Thanks for the troubleshooting results. Unfortunately it means that the motherboard is faulty.

If you are going to replace the motherboard, the Dell part number you need is D883F (or alternatively, CRH6C)

Hi Gireada,

Sorry to hear you're having issues. Does the system start up if you remove the riser from the motherboard?

If it starts, what does it show in BIOS for the memory slots?

If it doesn't start up, do you get any diagnostic indicators?

Are you able to try the CPU from the riser on the motherboard and test with that CPU only?

Hello Alasdair R and thaks for reply. I get out RiserBoard and i have this LED https://photos.app.goo.gl/9I5vGZQv57pVaQFI2 and i have some beeps. I don't recornize this beeps.

With RiserBoard on i have this leds https://photos.app.goo.gl/Qaj3gxbFkdx1AnYR9 without thoes beeps.

Also i take CPU from RiserBoard to MotherBoard but nothing got change.

My memory are some Samsung M393B5673EH1-CH9 2GB 2RX8 PC3-10600R

It's not a supported memory configuration, but I would try it and see what happens
