Dell T5600 CPU fan options
Hello.
I know there have been many posts about this sort of thing already, but none of them contain the information I am looking for. I recently upgraded my CPU from an E5-2640 to an E5-2690. I'm just wondering a few things:
1. Will the stock Dell 1TD00 heatsink and fan be sufficient to keep this cool under heavy load?
2. If yes, does anybody know the max RPM and max noise this fan produces, and the max TDP CPU it is suitable for?
3. What other heatsink and fan options are there that will still allow me to have the optical drives in the case? I believe these are two options:
Intel STS200C https://www.amazon.co.uk/Intel-STS200C-Thermal-Solution-Processor/dp/B007VT64I0
Supermicro SNK-P0048AP4 https://www.amazon.co.uk/Supermicro-SMH-SNK-P0048AP4-CPU-Cooling/dp/B0090YPQJ2/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=SNK-P0048AP4&qid=1574844272&sr=8-1
From what I understand, the Intel won't fit correctly into the narrow 2011 ILM without some modifications or replacement parts. The Supermicro seems a better option but runs at up to 8400 RPM and can be quite noisy at 52 dB.
So overall, I'm wondering should I stick to the stock cooler, or go for the Supermicro?
I am also interested in the Supermicro SNK-P0050AP4 https://www.amazon.co.uk/Supermicro-SMH-SNK-P0050AP4-CPU-Cooling/dp/B007UXPIX4/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=SNK-P0050AP4&qid=1574845611&sr=8-1
However I don't believe this will fit if I want to keep the optical drives so I don't want to risk it unless somebody can advise me that it would be suitable.
Thanks in advance.
