Gpu upgrades on dell precision t5610
Is there any ways I can upgrade my gpu on this machine to a newer GTX 970 MSI? Coz the old Quadro k2000 is running slow and I don't wanna spend another 100+ bucks on a old used Quadro k4000 or k5000, so I'm considering a GTX 970 which is much cheaper and giving higher performance. However, Im worried that it cant support by new gpu, so by any chance will it not boot if I install the new gpu?

Take the Quadro card out.
Move the Wifi card to 2 slot down.
Install the GTX card following the guide from previously linked video. Connecting x2 6-pin to x1 8-pin adapter to power your new card.
Replace a new coin cell battery while you are working on the motherboard as a maintenance.

@Chino de Oro do you mean the coin cell battery is just for when things go wrong?

No, I meant the coin cell battery for maintenance. If you are not sure, just leave it alone.

@Chino de Oro hi is there any way I can take off the antennas from the wifi card? I search on the web but it seemed to be no answers. My wifi card name is tp link ax1800

I'm not sure if the OP is still watching, but just in case this comes up again...you can put just about anything in these. They're PCIE 3.0, x16 slots (two of them). Here's the gotchas. It only has 300w TDP for gpus, 75w from the bus, 75W from each 6 pin connector. So you can run a card with a TDP of 225w or less. This system's dream setup in it's day was dual k5000's, or a Tesla using both 6 pins and a k2000. So 970's, with 2 6 pin work great. You could even run dual RTX A4000's, since each has a single 6 pin and a TDP of 145W (it'd cost you 12-1400 dollars, but you do you). Other problem though is these were designed with Quadro's in mind, power connectors in the rear. Many Geforce have the connectors in the middle, which is right under the sheet metal support built in the case cover...so you can't put the cover back on. I've used a 970, 980 Ti, Quadro P5000; an RTX 4060 Ti 16GB OC is the current card. I finally cut the sheet metal (can't tell from the outside) and used the more modern cards. Runs great, with dual 2667's (16c, 32t total) and 128GB it happily works as a render slave for my main computers. Even plays a decent game at very good settings on UW 1440p. On Amazon, you can get a dual 8 pin power cable for these to replace the 6 pin. In my experience, this doesn't upgrade the 75W of the 6 pin though, just gives you compatability with more cards. I use a dual 6 pin to 8 pin cable with my 4060 Ti, no issues.
