Precision T5610 - Unable to Boot
Hi,
Recently one of our office Dell Precision T5610 workstation are unable to boot.
We found that by unplugging the power cable, and plugged in after a while, the PC will boot again. We have use the workstation in this way for a couple of weeks since but I worry it will build up to something serious.
Once we saw a solid amber '3' is light up on the front, but i doubt the CPU is the problem since we are still running the PC fine with no problems other than the boot up issue.
A few days before this happened, the PC powered up with the date lost, so I thought the cell battery for the motherboard died and replaced it sometime after. Doesn't seem to help the problem but I don't know if it has anything to do with the booting problem or not.
Please help.

Usually, when it doesn't start, are there any other signs of activity? (other than the 3 LED illuminating that you saw)
Are you able to swap any parts (such as the PSU, memory, or any add-in cards) with another system to see if the fault follows the part?
If you could let us know, thanks.

No other signs of activity other than the power button light is on. Pressing it will not start up the machine.
I will try to swap the PSU with another T5610 when I get the chance. Will update here.

Did the power supply swapping and it seemed to solve the problem.
However it doesn't explain why the power supple works fine with another machine.
Anyways hopefully the matters is solved.
