Precision T7500 + GTX 1080 Ti ?

Good day everyone,

I own an old T7500 since 2015 and super happy with the workstation. I have been offered from my friend to buy a GTX 1080 Ti which consums 600w of power and I was wondering if it will work with my old system?

Currenly I have the quadro 4000 card which is quite old now.

Thanks,

Actually the GTX 1080Ti requires at least a 600W PSU (you have an 1100W PSU). The card draws 250W per NVidia's specs here. The card also requires a 6 pin and an 8 pin power connector. I am not sure your PSU has both of those connectors though an adapter may be available.

So, you think it would work? How can I check if I have the 6 and 8 pin power converter?

This video could help.

If you open up the T7500, see if you have 2 spare connectors not being used  - an 8-pin and a 6-pin.
