T1700 NVME Boot Support
Hi,
I just bought a second hand T1700 and would like to upgrade the 1TB hard drive.
I'm considering the new EVO970 with a StarTech.com M.2 Adapter - x4 PCIe 3.0 NVMe to be used on the secondary PCI-E 4x port.
Do the latest T1700 Bios support NVME boot? Any please where I could find instructions on how to configure it?
All help is appreciated.
Nuno

mmfbernardo,
Unfortunately, the bios has no option for booting to NVME Hard drive, Also, the latest bios does not have support for this option in the update.

The T1700 was introduced in 2013 and the latest BIOS for it is A27 from Nov. 2018. https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us/drivers/driversdetails?driverid=pk8cm
While the T1700 doesn't have support for NVMe drives, SATA SSD's still yields a noticeable performance increase over HDD's.
