Hi @MVM-Team,

Your 5820 was introduced around 2 yrs. ago.  Isn't it under warranty yet?

Please know I tried a few different websites and couldn't pull up a part number.  Google was all over the place, Dell site just wants to sell more 5820's, and so on.

If your fans aren't blowing much, and they're clean, please remember they are temperature controlled.

If you're 5820 is still in warranty, use the Contact Support link to contact Dell more directly for the best and timely service.  One can call, chat, or email.

It looks like your images are of the T7820.  As far as I can find, the T5820 did not include the rear fan assembly as an option.  It looks like both the T7820 and T5820 share the same chassis.  As long as there are enough fan connectors on the motherboard for the rear fans, you should be able to drop the T7820 fan assembly in without any issues.

@JamesJAB1  The problem as I see it is there are no fan headers to plug into on the T5820. So you could add it to the T7820 but not to a T5820. I looked on my board, the solder points are there but no connector for the 2 fans. Seems they must use the same motherboard with a few minor changes. You can find the unit on eBay pretty easily. GENUINE Dell Precision 7820 Fan Assembly YG3N1, that's what you're looking for.

@billlh Hi, that is true, but Chatgpt tells me about using a splitter connected to the front fans. Even there is a connector for a fan near the cpu that is for a disk or something else (I don´t remember exactly the name). This solution should work. Now the question is what splitter should be used and how to connect that, really I don´t know.

@dellgranjacob Yeah, I'm not sure how you would hook it up, and I'm not really sure you need it anyway. I never dug into it far enough to find out. Let us know if you do, would be interested to know what you work out.
