Add second SSD drive to install Windows 10
Hello,
I have a Precision M6600 with Windows 7. A while back I replaced the original hard drive with an SSD drive and increased the RAM to 32GB. Runs great. I also have a copy SolidWorks 2015 and various other software I want to keep and use. If I upgrade to Windows 10 I will need to repurchase all of my software. Something I can’t afford to do, or want to do.
I’m thinking of replacing the second drive, a 500GB hard drive, with an SSD drive and install Windows 10, in effect have two operating systems. I can then rent a copy of SolidWorks 2020 for business use. The latest SolidWorks does not support Windows 7, the reason for the second operating system.
Is this possible? If so, can someone recommend where I can find instructions on how to install Windows 10 as a second operating system installed on a second drive?
thanks in advance for your help.

with the upgrade route you can save your apps and files to the new install.
to be safe, be sure to make a backup image of your hdd/ssd before you start.

Update: after a bit of internet searching I found how to install Windows 10 on a second drive. So, the original SSD drive, primary drive, still has Windows 7 with all my old software intact. The second SSD drive has Windows 10. On startup I’m given the option between Windows 7 or Windows 10.
