Battery capacity & charging on Precision5540

Hi,

I'd ordered a Precision 5540 in December 2019 with Ubuntu 18.04 and received it around 30/Dec. When I ran the laptop for the first time, I noticed that the battery capacity was rated at 98.8%. I ran some cycles hoping that it was an issue with calibration. However, one month in, it is still at 98.8%. Is there a way that I can raise this or is this an issue with the battery itself?

The other issue I have is related to how the charging point on the laptop heats up during the charging process. It gets sufficiently hot that I pause work as I don't want to damage the board with that level of heat. Any way I can fix this?

Thanks in advance for any tips!

Was this issue resolved?

I'm having the same problem with an Ubuntu installed Precision 5540.  When I plug in the charger, the laptop gets hot (Even at 100%) and the fans stay running I unplug the charger.

Almost like magic, within seconds of unplugging the battery charger the laptop fans turn off and it cools down to 40-50 deg C (according to the linux app `sensors`).
