Dell Precision M4700 Can't Boot at All, Boot Menus not Displaying
Specs
-Dell m4700 Precision
-16 GB Ram
-i7 Quad Core CPU (3.6GHz turbo speed)
-AMD FirePro Graphics
Situation
1. Just started up Left 4 Dead for the first time (11 y/o game)
2. Since it was such an old game, I put all of the graphics settings to the max and then loaded the first level
3. The game did the loading screen fine but seemed to crash when displayed the level
4. This crash made the computer completely black screen, and CTRL+ALT+DELETE had no effect
5. I then force shut down the computer and attempted to restart it
6. When I tried to do this, nothing appeared on the screen at all. All of the buttons lighted up as you would expect (power, charger, num lock, etc.), but the screen displayed absolutely nothing
Things I've attempted
1. Holding/Spamming Fn key upon startup: this will make the hard disk and power lights blink in tandem, but doesn't make the boot menu show up as it is intended to do
2. Holding/Spamming F12 key upon startup: no change from just the regular black screen (no buttons blinking, no menu)
3. Holding/Spamming D key upon startup: actually does bring up the LCD diagnostics slideshow as intended. This cycles between red, green, blue, black, white, etc. but that's all
4. Hooking up an external monitor: doesn't receive any signal, even when doing the LCD diagnostics
5. Removing the battery and booting with only external power: no affect

UPDATE: I took out the graphics card, and the computer booted on internal graphics. Obviously this isn't an ideal situation, but the computer is currently functioning correctly. This does mean that the problem is indeed with the graphics card. I don't know if it is completely shot, or if something was somehow changed when I changed my in-game settings. If someone could tell me what happened, it would be very much appreciated.

You may try doing system restore to roll back the drivers and updates that were installed and then try with the video card installed and check if that makes any difference, suspecting driver conflict.
