does precision m6800 touch screen worth it? (please tell me)
hey guys. these days I am upgrading my laptop and I want to change my display from a very bad hd+ mate display to a much better FHD display.
I wanted to know is the toach screen good and is it as good as the 1080p dell ultra sharp wide view panel??

First : hold your horses. This is a user forum. People are not waiting around to answer questions about laptops from 2013/2014.
Second : No, the touch panel has a lower brightness and lower display gamut than the standard FHD ultrasharp panel.
Third : they tend to be prohibitively expensive as the Touch panel comes as an assembly with lid, hinges, front edge to edge glass, LVDS and wifi cables etc already attached. You can probably buy an entire used m4800/6800 machine for around the same cost as just getting a new touch display ( I would NOT buy a used display panel)
And finally : I think touch screens on workstation laptops are stupid. Not once have I found a use for them, and not once Did I use the touch screen on my precision m5510. They seem cool in theory, but touching the screen to rotate a model or something is annoying, it just moves the display around, and leaves finger prints.
