KM714 WM514 wireless Dell keyboard/ mouse interference via Dock

I would greatly appreciate help or advice with an issue.

My KM714 WM514 wireless Dell keyboard/ mouse work ok when the universal reciever is plugged into my laptop (Dell Precision 5530). However, when I plug them into my dock (Dell 3100 USB dock), which has an attached monitor (Dell U3415W), intereference occurs intermittently.

The problem is freezing of mouse, keyboard and intermittent repeated strokes (e.g. ffffffffffff) on keyboard.

I am running Windows 10 Enterprise and have updated all Precision 5530 drivers via the Dell website automated process.

Things I have tried:

1) Updated Dell U3415W firmware and installed specific driver (11/09/2014) - visible in Device Manager

2) Installed the latest Dell Universal Receiver control software and the  KM714 & WM514 Dell Universal Receiver Update. Done the new pairing of keyboard and mouse with the reciever

3) Replaced batteries in keyboard/mouse

4) Tried USB universal receiver in USB 2.0 port on back of hub and also via an extension USB 2.0 cable, so receiver is a long way (>0.5m) from other electronics

5) Installed this for the hub: DisplayLink Driver for Dell SuperSpeed USB3.0 Docking Station (D3100/D3000/D1000), Universal Dock (D6000), Universal Dongle (DA100) and Dell MKS14 monitor stand.

I am at a loss for what can be causing this issue - does anyone have an idea?
