Never solved! - M4800 power switch not working. Anyone know Cause or Solution?

Does anyone know the cause / solution to this problem with the M4800 switch?

Precision M4800 Power Switch does not work

I have a real stumper.  The power button does not function.  Will not turn on the laptop, nor turn it off. I set the bios to power on with A/C, so I can get it to power on by unplugging and re-plugging the power cord.    When Window has power switch set  to sleep or to shut down -- it does not.  Holding the power switch down will not shutdown the laptop.

I installed the latest bios from the support pages.  I replaced the CMOS battery.  I replaced the power switch. While I had it opened up I checked for loose connections, debris, dirt, etc.   At least to the point I had access (I did not open beyond removing the palm rest to get to the power switch).

I also tried using an E-Dock.  When docked the power switch on the dock does not power on or power off the laptop either.  Same symptoms as with the power switch on the laptop.

Everything else on the laptop seems to work just fine.  Not sure what to do next with this.  Sad part is this started about 4 weeks after the Dell service expired.

SAME PROBLEM:    Dell M4800 Power ON Power Off
Precision M4800.

0- Power button does nothing neither to turn on or turn off. (Has been replaced).

1- To power on, I must unplug power and remove battery. (I assume this is clearing some circuit inside.) It then powers on by itself without using the power boton.

2- To turn off, I can turn off, or restart, in Windows, but power botton does nothing.

3- It does not appear to sleep or hibernate, but to turn itself fully off.

4- It will randomly turn itself on, hours after power down (i.e in the middle of the night) even with lid closed and set to Full OFF and machine fully turned off.

5- Power boton replaced. Battery replaced. Charger Replaced. All connections internally checked. Formatted and fresh installs of Win 10.

6- Researched all over internet. Other people have similar problems, but never is a solution presented other than replacing MOBO.

Anyone ever solve this?
