Precision 7530: occasional issue with display
Hello Dell Community,
I come to you after both Dell's and my efforts having been fruitless in resolving a display issue with a Precision 7530. This issue was first detected around 3 months ago.
Overview of the issue:
The issue is only noticeable on the display of the 7530. It is interesting that it happens both with multiple devices connected (docks, external monitors) and without any such devices.
Interventions:
After this issue came to light, the 7530 has seen the following parts exchanged without any progress towards resolution:
1. screen
2. LVDS for screen
3. motherboard (does not include the dedicated graphics card)
Issue details:
incomprehensible display in outlook. laptop screen
In the attached image, you will only find a photo of part of a part of the screen of the 7530. I had to hide the remainder. This photo is only representative of the issue to some extent, because the area of blurriness:
- does not always extend to the bottom or to the top
- does not always have the same height
- moves up and down during the period where we can observe this issue
- always extends from left to right
- has edges that change shape and color as you can see just below the ebay line
Additionally, I once saw some rounded artifacts in Windows' login screen that went away after about a minute. About 5 centimeters in diameter. They were not entirely static. This is not the primary issue, however.
The 'F12' and 'D' never report any failures. At some point, I was able to replicate an issue in the 'D' test where no more than half a centimeter at the bottom of the screen, extending from left to right, would should garbled colors instead of the single color. I cannot reproduce this issue anymore. Otherwise, I have had no success in replicating this issue.
Device details:
- storage: 2x nvme SSDs: SM961 and PC401 SK hynix
- bios: 1.21.1. I have also seen the issue with whatever the default BIOS version was for the new board, which was from 2018
- CPU: E-2176M CPU @ 2.70GHz
- Windows Pro 1909. Also happened with 1903 at least
- graphics: NVIDIA Quadro P3200 and Intel UHD Graphics P630
- all the latest updates in Dell Command Update utility
I have searched though Dell Community and only found something relating to an LVDS for the screen on a 7X30, but I guess that is not interesting enough at this point.
Thank you for your consideration. I am out of ideas other than buying a new one.
Edit 2020/04/22: "resolved" by disabling the onboard intel graphics. Note the bold quotes around resolved ... It is not the first on this location that had this "resolution" for graphical problems

Replying to myself, because resolution is in original post, which was to disable onboard graphics in the BIOS.
