Precison 3530 touchpad buttons erratic behavior (on multiple 3530s)
For sometime now, the touchpad buttons on several of my Dell Precision 3530 Win 11 laptops have been behaving erratically. In particular, the leftmost touchpad mouse button often (but not always) requires 3 - 5 clicks in order to reposition in an email or other text, and especially several minutes after I have restarted or woken the 3530 from sleep.
I have tried everything that I can find online to solve the problem, including uninstalling and re-installing the touchpad and mouse drivers in Device Manager, downloading and installing the touchpad and mouse drivers for both Win 10 and Win 11, but to no avail.
I read that there may be a conflict between the drivers that Windows downloads and uses and those that Dell has on its support page. But if that is the problem, I have not been able to figure out how to solve it.
Please see the Device Manager attachments for the devices that I've seen online that may be causing the touchpad problems.

If you haven't looked into the condition of the batteries (remove the base cover and verify that they're not swollen), that would be the first thing to do before you start with driver changes/updates. These are 2019 model systems and the batteries are well past their lifespan if they're original to the system.
If the batteries start to swell, erratic touchpad operation is very often the first sign. Remove and dispose of any swollen batteries -- and even if some appear OK at present, if you have plans to keep them in service for more time, it would be wise to replace all of the batteries, not just those that have (so far) swollen.
