1700 Manual Feeder - Require button push

Question

When I am using the manual feeder for printing stickers, it always says the manual feeder is out of paper.  At this point if I insert paper it goes and prints fine.   The problem is that all of the users in the office constantly put the paper in before they send the print job.  When they do this, the printer registers out of paper and the user has to push the continue button to make it print.    I could care less about the issue, but the users are constantly pestering me about it.  Does anyone have any suggestions to get it so that if the user puts the paper in first, it will just go ahead and print it...     Note:  This issue is only with one software (the main one the office uses) and it is printing it on  7 x 8.5' documents.   If I print a word document or a test page on 8.5x11 it prints fine   Thank you

I am having the same problem with envelopes in Tray 1.  It only allows you to print in the manual feeder.  Big problem for me, and I can't get support from Dell unless I pay $50 for it.   Aaron

I have had excellent luck on the Lexmark site with using their troubleshooting tools. This is an excellent document having to do with the trays sensing the wrong paper size. Perhaps it will help.

actually further testing shows that this problem does not just occur with the odd size forms.. It exists just through one program.. on a down side, we purchased this software, therefore can not modify it

I did find a work around.  When I create my envelopes in MS Word and arrange the envelope info in a normal 8 1/2 x 11 paper size, the Dell printer is faked out and envelopes come flying out of Tray 1 with no problems.  It's a DELL printer driver problem.  I hope they fix it.  I really did not like their support at all.
