1710 - Error when adding as network printer - DKAAy2PI.exe

Question

About 50% of all users who add a new 1710 that was just installed on an HP JetDirect Print Server come up with an error.  The error states:   DKAAY2PI.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows.  You will need to restart the program.   After clicking OK, the printer works just fine, but users are put off by the message.  It occurs once and then is never to be seen again, as far as I can tell.  This occurs with people who both have and do not have other Dell printers installed.

same error message here. The printer is in a W2k3 server environment and if the clients (all) install the driver they have those message. After clicking OK all works fine, but the user and the admin as well are not happy with that.   Any solutions available???

Similare issue here.  Dell 1710 is connected via LPT1 to a Win2k workstation and shared.  Any other XP Workstation on the network has no problems.  When i try to add the printer to a Win2K Workstation I get the above mentioned error and the printer DOES NOT work on that workstation. Since this is my first time post, and see a lack of answers..  does anyone actually answer usually?   I guess not. Message Edited by NexxtTech on 01-25-200704:00 PM

If you head into Add/Remove and pull out the Dell Software or Dell Laser Software options you'll get a list, pull it all but the driver.   No promises, but that worked for me
