3100CN "Out of Memory" error

Just purchased, received and installed a 3100CN.  Printer seems very nice, but every color print job sent to it get's a "Out of Memory" error.  These are 3~4MB photos sent to the printer in "Print Fine Photo" mode.

If I watch the print que, I see them as 10MB files.

This printer supposedly (and reportedly) has 64MB of ram in it.  Why would I get the "Out of Memory" error when sending these files to the printer?

Hello,

how many photos are you printing simultaneously ? because by default all photos are stocked in windows spooler and after send to the printer so quickly you reached the amount of memory ...

few solutions :

- Buy a new memory module :smileywink: (it's not very expensive)
- Print using PS drivers better for memory management
- Disable windows spooler (use "print directly to the printer" option)

Tell us if it works :smileyhappy:

Frumble :smileytongue:

I'm sending only one job to the printer.  That is, one page, one picture.   Last night I sent one that was a 4MB print job and it gave me an "Out of Memory" error.

I'm not using the PS driver.  Should I be?  I thought PCL was better?  Regardless, would it make a difference if I'm sending a photograph and not text?

I'm just very frustrated that I bought a printer with this much memory and it won't print in full color due to memory issues.

Thanks,

John

I'd the same problem with 7 mega pixels file then went down to 5 mega pixels still the same.  Ordered 256mb ram on monday received today and after installing add'l ram the picture print without any out of memory problem.

But now I've a new problem:

I'm using Hammermill Color Laser Gloss (32 lb 92 Brightness) as someone suggested and inserted in the MPF tray and setting it to Coated 1 but the printer display keep coming back with load paper Coated 1. With printing on the gloss paper seams like the heat is too high as some spots get burn with thicker and harder coat on it.

But it will print if I change it back to plain 1 in MPF setting, what am I doing wrong here?
